Masquerade Kiss

Masquerade Kiss is a Love Choice title.
Now for the record, yours truly DESPISES
Voltages recent price gouging push of Love choice. One story cost as many coins as 2 main stories and an epilogue depending on the length. These main stories are in fact over 1000 coins worth of hearts. It's absolutely ridiculous and shows an immense amount of greed.
Lucky me, I earned over 300 hearts for free since its unfortunate release so, I made an exception and read the two available stories since they offered Collectors Editions for those who met certain requirements upon reading. getting the last 2 CG's and enough points to make it to a happy ending or Purchasing just the second to last CG and 40 hearts to purchase Super Happy Ending.

Now, The stories are actually not bad. Your heroine is a secret agent just like her idol Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. Yes, the MC is weirdly obsessed with Tom Cruise. To each their own I guess.

Anyway. You are given the mission of investigating and getting dangerously close to one of 3 Men. One is a  Resort King Kazuomi Shindo 3rd richest man in the world. Born in Japan but raised in America after an unfortunate event from his past. Think Eisuke only Resorts lol. He really reminds me of a mixture of Ota and Eusuike. Honestly. He sees life as a huge game and everything needs to be bet on. She turns out to be his only match in the game of life. The second available man is Yuzuru Shiba. Seen as emotionless and heartless but once you delve into who he is as a man you find out that's only a mask he has worn to protect himself. His story is so far better than Kazuomi's, even if I like Kazuomi's personality better his story pales in comparison to Yuzuru.

The MC risks everything to protect something special to Yuzuru. Even if it means signing her death warrant. The developments of the two men available are done very well. Their values and life goals change little by little and in the end, they are the ones who fall hopelessly in love. I am more looking forward to Kei's story. I will spend money on it if I have too, even if it makes me a hypocrite in the end after all my critiques. After the special story that released with him and the tidbits I have learned about him, I know for a fact his story is going to be heartwrenching and yet still make you fall for him. He is a sadist to the core and hides it behind a faux-pas gentleman persona. Just my kinda guy. lol.

Anyone who knows me after reading my reviews knows I prefer the tsundere and the twisted sadist types far more than frilly fluffy sickeningly sweet romance types. Anyway, this is my impression of the title thus far. The epilogue for Kazuomi was not as good as I hoped. so They had better make sequels for these stories. Because MC deserves to be free from her espionage life so she can love freely as herself! Unless they decide to give "Boss" a storyline, which I secretly hope they do. I theorize Boss is actually crushing on his favorite agent but does not realize he has feelings for her (though his route reveals so so much!). Welp, there you have it. My thoughts on Voltage's newest title.

Happy Reading my Otome loving friends!

EDIT: I finally read Kei's story and yes I went against my very being and purchased hearts to do so. However I really wanted to see how right I was about the guy, and low and behold, YEP! He was everything I expected and more and I loved him. His story is even more dramatic than Yuzuru's and shows our MC's crush, Boss, in a very VERY different light. He... Well, I am not one for major spoilers lets just say he breaks the poor girl's heart. Love Choice still isn't worth the cost of the hearts for the best ending but that title specifically I found to be worth it.

That newest love choice title "A World With(Out) You". Well, let's just say you have to be a fan of no happy ending tragedies to justify the cost for those. Which, I apologize but you will not receive any kind of review at all for that title here. I am not a fan of tragedies thanks to the manga Harou Airen. Sorry.

Second Edit: They DID release a story for Boss and let me tell you, it was weird that the other 3 guys only had minimal screen time. Kazuomi had the most, when he tried to help her when a certain someone betrayed her. Boss is very much so far deep into his work that he has all but lost himself in the process. The mission comes first, even at the expense of someone he loves?

This is a story you will just have to read. Out of all the Love Choice titles out so far, and there are around 3 or 4 now, This one is the only one I have spent money on ALL routes and special stories and epilogues etc. The DR one is Alright, the MC is kinda.. Well very weird and I don't like her. At all. How she manages to snag those sexy doctors is beyond me, though truthfully they are just as weird as she is. Its ok and worth the cost if you have nothing else you want to spend money on. A good last resort, Im bored outta my gourd read. I did purchase 3 of the without you his pov stories and as expected, unless you lie tragic endings, it really isn't worth the cost. Since in the end, you simply lose the love of your life and don't get a life with him. No thanks.
